In the cases where production runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there is no official "non production time". Therefore, there can be a lag between SFI transactions and these transactions being synced to the AP.
For example, if a Consumption report is ran at 23:59 on 01/01, but a transaction is made at 23:50, but the Vending Machine starts a 15min sync at 23:55, this transaction will not appear in the consumption report for 01/01. Since the time stamp is dated 23:50, 01/01, then this will also not appear in the 02/01 report.
Solution: Via the AP, can each device have a "auto lock" feature, where we can set repeatable, self-defined duration, non-production times per day/month where no transactions can be made, to ensure no actual transactions are missed as a result of the above.
We also have in plan hopefully February release next year to make all transaction synch to AP live. We believe this will solve this challenge. There could for sure still be challenges if network connection is lost but this would cover normal cases.
It's not a bad idea but there are other ways to solve it. Take out a report at 00:15, (delay it with 15-30min) and use the filter for Last Day and you get all the data. You could also use BI to filter on the actual sync date/time. You can change the sync period to less than 15min to minimize the sync intervals and error margin
